I found this nice Crater Lake Lodge negative in a Kresse Drug Store envelope with the name “E. Franz” on it.  Unfortunately they didn’t fill in the date field, but I am guessing late 1920s or early 1930s based on the cars.  Note while the visitors all have late model automobiles, the work crew is using an old-fashioned 3 horsepower rig for grounds work.

The Crater Lake Lodge opened in 1915, followed in 1918 by the Rim Drive.  Next time you visit, remember the drive was designed for vehicles like this, not your modern ride.

I’m not sure if the cabins in the distance were for visitors or staff.
