18-Mile Island Redux – The History Museum of Hood River County

We’ve noticed many illustrations or photos of Charles Reither and his property on 18-Mile Island (aka Rooster Charlie Island), but this just one arrives with a distinctive handle. Rodger Nichols gave a lecture about the island this February at the Primary Wasco Courthouse Record Forum, which involved the tour of the island in the movie under.  As with any of Rodger’s lectures you’re guaranteed to find out all types of entertaining community history.  Rodger even offers the proof for the railroad on the island– the one I have under no circumstances been in a position to obtain in the comprehensive photographic report.
