The Old House Where I Was Born

This fine old impression built its way into the Image Cave in-basket past year.  It has this descriptive inscription:

This is our previous property in which I was born, June 19 1861.  In the photo are my mother, Lillie A Murphy, sister Ida, and Nora Murphy and myself– B.L. Murphy.  Hood River Oregon, August 5 1934.

In accordance to this 1907 post B. L. Murphy was the teacher at the Barrett College.  He is later on stated as the principal.  It is not very clear from the inscription where this property was, but I do not see point out of Mr. Murphy in Hood River prior to 1907.  In the 1900 census he was dwelling in Monmouth Oregon.  Potentially that’s where he was born.
