Notes

On March 10, 1957 the Military Corps of Engineers closed the gates on the Dalles Dam. In less than five hours Celilo Falls fell silent.

This Sunday, on the 67th anniversary, we’ll be opening the “Voices of the River” exhibit at the museum. There will be a reception from 2PM to 4PM on Sunday where you will be in a position to see a online video from the Confluence Challenge which introduces people to the Columbia River methods Indigenous heritage, dwelling cultures and ecologies. You will also see artifacts from our selection which deal with the river’s Indigenous background.

You are going to also get to fulfill the Museum’s Marvelous Morganne, as effectively as our new Director Lisa Commander. Drop on by this Sunday!

Also, check out this movie of fishing at Celilo Falls in 1947.
