Notes

This spectacular photograph of Main Tommy Thompson, “The Salmon Chief”, is component of the assortment of Archie McKeown photographs loaned to the Museum for the exhibit “Voices of the River” by McKeown’s granddaughter, Davinne McKeown-Ellis. Morganne has interspersed McKeown’s photographs with testimony before the Celilo Fish Fee of 1949 by Wy-am-pum users who refused to cede their treaty rights to the Federal govt for the Dalles Dam building. This is record any individual dwelling in this spot requires to know. This exhibit shares it in a most impressive way.
